We open at 9.30 am on a Sunday morning, and you are welcome to have a complimentary drink in our cafe or go straight up to the main hall. Our service starts at 10 am. You can expect contemporary praise and worship led by our band, followed by biblical teaching. Besides our own speakers, we have a number of guest speakers visiting us throughout the year.
During the service, there will an be opportunity for prayer if needed. Complimentary hot drinks are available after the service.

What about my kids?

We have creche facilities for pre-school children, GC Kids for under 12’s and GC Youth for teenagers.

GC Tots (pre-school children) have fun in the creche with a bible story, craft activity and refreshments.
GC Kids (4 to 11year-olds) have their own program of worship, bible study and prayer, together with games and refreshments. They sometimes have a ‘mystery guest’ as we have so many talented people in our Gateway family who love to come and share their gifts with the children.
GC Youth (11-18 year olds) have a special session three times a month, mid-way through the service.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service as we worship (sing songs) together for the first part of the morning. During the announcements, it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Children are to be collected during the closing worship song.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Gateway Church, Monk Street (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:00am in our main hall, upstairs. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Gateway badge.

We serve hot drinks downstairs in our cafe, from 9.30, before the service begins. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility

There is wheelchair access, a lift and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets on the ground floor.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of contemporary worship, led by our band - 3 or 4 songs lasting approximately 25 minutes. Sometimes one of our leaders might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church.

One of our leaders, or a guest speaker will then give a 20-30 minute talk that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. Besides our own speakers, we have a number of guest speakers visiting us throughout the year. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. Complimentary refreshments are available after the service.

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages. We have GC Kids for 0- 12 yo and GC Youth for 12-18 yo. Please visit our Children and Youth page for more information.
