The Alpha Course

Wallet card front

Is there more to Life than this? Can We Believe the Bible? Why did Jesus die? How Can I Have Faith?

If you have questions like these, why not come along to our four Alpha ‘taster’ sessions starting on 17 September, 2024.
You will be sure of a friendly welcome, light refreshments and an opportunity to air your views and ask questions.
There is no pressure to believe, only an opportunity to discover for yourself what Jesus has to offer.

Sessions will take place at 7pm in our Rehoboth Centre opposite the Castle Street car park (free in the evenings) and will last for about 90 minutes.

We should love to see you there!

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Gateway Church, Monk Street (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:00am in our main hall, upstairs. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Gateway badge.

We serve hot drinks downstairs in our cafe, from 9.30, before the service begins. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility

There is wheelchair access, a lift and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets on the ground floor.

Parking

There are two car parks nearby.

Brewers Yard car park, situated on Lion Street, NP7 5NW.
What3words: hoops.bedding.remarking

Bus Station car park, situated off Monmouth Road, NP7 5HF.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of contemporary worship, led by our band - 3 or 4 songs lasting approximately 25 minutes. Sometimes one of our leaders might pray out loud or read a small passage from the bible. We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church.

One of our leaders, or a guest speaker will then give a  20-30 minute talk that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. Besides our own speakers, we have a number of guest speakers visiting us throughout the year. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. Complimentary refreshments are available after the service.

What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages. We have GC Kids for 0- 12 yo and GC Youth for 12-18 yo. Please visit our Children and Youth page for more information.
